10th Annual Skooter's Ride - ACM

Event date:
Sat, 10/01/2022 - 11:00am

In January 2013 after 15 years, my buddy Skooter crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. We rode many miles and I have had many memorable trips on the bike with him.....many of you probably have ridden with us and shared some of those same memories.
Every year on Skooter's birthday, we would always ride somewhere special and those rides turned into a ride with our biker family to get steak and ice cream. This year, and every year to come, on Skooter's birthday, I would like to memorialize his life since he is no longer with us with Skooter’s Ride. I would also like to celebrate all of our animals - all breeds, shapes and sizes, with us or not, that have touched the lives of each of us in some way.
Each year everyone has a great time and we have raised a little over $34,000 for local animal shelters. This year we are again going to be holding our benefit at Mancuso Harley-Davidson Crossroads. Our main event for the riders / cagers will be a photographic scavenger hunt.

If you would like to participate in the Photographic Scavenger Hunt, registration will be a $20.00 donation, with additional entries of a $10.00 donation for each passenger! Build a team, load up with some friends and have fun!! Extra points for style and costumes!! We will be holding a Win/Win drawing and will have items for a Silent Auction. All donations and proceeds from the Benefit will be presented to Abandoned Animal Rescue - AAR. If you are donating by check, please make the check out to Abandoned Animal Rescue.  You don’t have to ride a motorcycle to participate in the Photographic Scavenger Hunt, you can make the trip in the vehicle of your choice. If you are donating by check, please make the check out to Abandoned Animal Rescue.

Abandoned Animal Rescue – AAR – Information

Skooter’s brother, Sparky – Chief of Security, Defender of the Back Forty and Destroyer of Sticks and Sister Ellie – Chief of Wildlife, Bug Patrol and Tunnel to China Engineer were adopted from AAR. AAR’s mission is to work towards ending pet overpopulation that results in the euthanasia of unwanted cats and dogs. We do this by providing a rescue and adoption center, by emphasizing the importance of spaying and neutering and by educating on humane animal ownership. AAR is committed to the emotional, physical, and behavioral well being of each animal in our care. In addition to providing a shelter for abandoned animals, AAR has foster families for special needs animals, litters, and rehabilitation.

Although our mission statement says we want to end the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs, we know that is a distant destination. So with your support, AAR will continue working towards making our community a no-kill, safe haven for homeless pets.
