Wreaths Across American - CAR event

Event date:
Sat, 12/19/2020 - 8:00am

We will be meeting up for breakfast at the
Denny’s near Willowbrook Mall
(12697 N Gessner Rd, Houston, TX 77064)
at 8am and then Carley with KSU at 9:30am with plans to be there to lay wreaths at 10am.

The Wreaths Across America committee were given a pretty restrictive set of guidelines.

(https://waahouston.com/covid-19-update/ if you want to review their post).

1) There will be no ceremony.

2) Wreath laying will be via drive-through method.

Wreaths will be handed out by volunteers at the gate.

For each car, they will hand one wreath per person in the car along with a map for the vehicle.

Your vehicle can then drive to wherever you wish within the facility and place wreaths.

You will then proceed out the exit.  You can get back in line and come lay more wreaths if you desire.

They will continue to do this from 8am until they run out of wreaths.

Masks must be worn when out of your vehicle in the cemetery.

Those guidelines did not accommodate motorcycles. They can hand us a wreath on a motorcycle, but then it is really not easy to ride while also trying to hold onto a wreath.
There are a few sections where we traditionally lay wreaths around Dave’s parents, but others may have other places they wish to visit so you will be on your own as to where you lay your wreath.
You may also choose to get back in line and get another wreath to lay on another gravesite
